Renters

As a renter, you have the right to expect a safe and healthy living environment. This includes a home that is free from hazards such as mold, lead, and asbestos. Your landlord has a responsibility to ensure that the property is maintained according to health and safety regulations.

If you notice any issues with the property that could be a hazard to your health or safety, such as leaks, pests, or electrical problems, it is important to notify your landlord immediately. They are legally required to address any concerns you have and make any necessary repairs.

Ask your landlord to share previous lead test results or have your home or apartment tested for the presence of lead by calling the local health department at 716-753-4481.
